Posted from Inbox I have a 3 1/2 year old ASD son who is in public preschool with an IEP since September. He currently gets 3 half days in an inclusion classroom, 60 minutes of speech, and recently 60 minutes of ABA. His teacher just left for maternity leave but just before she put in for an OT eval for him, which Im not 100% sure I understand her concerns for since he has great fine motor skills and nearly average gross motor, but now that shes out for the year I will just wait and see what the OT person says that does the eval. Hes a very happy guy, mostly uses his language for requesting, repeating people, music, and TV, and is starting to answer questions, but its still up in the air if he is just memorizing answers to things or really processing peoples words and thoughtfully giving an answer. We have an IEP meeting in April and though I know the obvious things I want him to work on- conversational language, engaging with peers with language and play, answering yes/no and open ended questions, reading social cues, etc... what are other things that I may be totally missing? I had no idea I could be a big part of the IEP writing the first time I went. Can potty training be in there? A daily communication log? What other kinds of things can go in a preschoolers IEP that Im not realizing? I want to be way more prepared this time. Thanks!
