Fundamentalist Christian and homeschool mom Megan Fox recently visited the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago and attempted to discredit the scientific basis of its exhibits, reported Raw Story. This week, Fox toured the Field Museum’s “Evolving Earth” exhibit to “audit it for bias.” She filmed her tour and commentary of the exhibit and noted in the video’s description that she “found many examples of inconsistencies and the Field Museum’s insistence that people support opinion as fact without proof. The Field Museum pushes certain theories as if they are absolute proven law when that is not how the scientific method works.” Having poised herself as possessing the intellectual prowess to question expertly-conducted research, Fox had trouble pronouncing the word “eukaryotes.” “I don’t know how to say this word, so I’m just going to pretend like I know how to say it,” Fox says to open the video. Fox later attempted to criticize paleontological evidence that supports the theory that the first animals lived in water, but then evolved to become land-living creatures. “It’s not like their fins fell off and they grew feet,” said Fox. “That’s what they want you to believe, that their fins fell off and then they grew some feet and started walking on the land. This is the dumbest theory I’ve heard in my whole life. It’s not good, it’s really not good. It’s bad. It’s very bad. Do you know how complex feet are?” However, the part that has commenters on YouTube and Reddit in a fury is when Fox claims that dinosaurs were actually dragons, but the “fact” is being covered up by liberals. Her reasoning for the conspiracy is that “it would throw off their [liberals and scientists] whole timeline of what they want you to believe.” This kind of ignorance is dangerous. As a homeschool mom, she should give credence to science and not cast it off as part of some liberal agenda. With homeschool moms trying to dispel science and Texas allowing textbooks that teach kids the Moses influenced American democracy, American education is in really bad shape.
