Posted this on CL, going to leave it here too: Hi, I am a 24 year old college student. I will be transferring to UCSD in La Jolla at the end of September. I have Muscular Dystrophy and use a feeding tube plus a ventilator. I am looking for a live in caregiver to help with a number of tasks. These include, bathing, laundry, feeding, driving, toileting, etc. While I do have 24 hour nursing care, I need to have a back up in case one of my nurses calls in sick and there are some activities that require two people. I would prefer someone around my age. Someone that is energetic, confident in their abilities, a fast learner and not afraid to go on the occasional adventure. Medical experience is obviously a plus, but not required. You will be getting free room and board, 3 meals a day (the school will give me access to the cafeteria, but since I cant eat and the food is already included, Ill just give it to you). You will get a salary, but since my entire family will be pitching in Id rather discuss this in person. Though I can almost guarantee a minimum of $900/month.
