Poster Uploading/Sharing While it can be fun, running a Facebook - TopicsExpress

Poster Uploading/Sharing While it can be fun, running a Facebook page is very much a responsibility. Facebook has established rules regarding poster ownership and proper sharing netiquette. If those rules are violated, they can, and do, shut pages down. One of the most important things you need to understand is regarding poster ownership. In a nutshell, once you upload a poster to your page, you are claiming ownership/copyright of it. If you post images on your page that do not belong to you, the owner has a right to report it to Facebook and Facebook may impose sanctions including shutting the page down. You are not permitted to upload images on your page that you do not own unless you have permission to do so. That is why sharing exists – so ownership of the poster can be shown and permission is granted via the page link. Simply tagging the poster does not imply permission from the owner nor does keeping any watermarks intact. Many new page owners believe that simply keeping the watermark on the poster is sufficient as it shows who made the poster. But, like previously stated, this does not imply permission to post by the owner. People put a lot of time and effort in creating their posters and it is simply respectful to give them credit by sharing. Often, you will come across a poster that has been uploaded by another page owner that violates the uploading ownership rules. If you share that poster, you, too, are subject to being reported. Before you share a poster, be sure the watermark and page you are sharing from match. Posters that are found on websites are also subject to copyright laws. Before you share them, read the fine print on the site to be sure you have permission. Usually, they require you post to Facebook directly from their site and not download/upload. The best way to avoid issues is to create your own posters and to properly share posters created by other pages. Thank you Jackie ~ Love is Where the Heart is
