Posting 3 early works today, all from my art school days. Absolve oil on canvas 48 x 38 2004. One of three works I exhibited in my senior exhibition at Laguna College of Art + Design in 2004. Boot oil on canvas 16 x 12 2002. I made this painting as a gift to a young man I was madly in love with, just a few short months after we began dating… It is a wild, van gogh inspired painting of my own boot. This token of my love still hangs in our home 13 years later! (Julios B-day gift circa 2002) Alone 24 x 18 charcoal on paper around 2003 - This simple, older drawing reminds me that a piece doesnt have to be perfect in detail to be refined, and to express something elemental. Despite all of its flaws, I still respond to this drawing.
