UNDSS is responsible for providing leadership, operational support and oversight of the security management system to enable the safest and most efficient conduct of the programmes and activities of the United Nations System. Under the supervision of the UNDSS Chief, Security Information and Operations Centre (SIOC), the Security Information Analyst (SIA) is responsible for the management of information relevant to security, including collection, collation, analysis and dissemination, to be used as a decision-making and planning tool by the UN Designated Official (DO) and Security Management Team (SMT) in Somalia to enhance the safety and security of UN personnel, assets and operations in the country. Education Advanced university degree (Master’s Degree) in Political or Social Science, Military Science, Criminology, International Relations or related field; A first level university degree with (9) years of relevant combination of experience in a related area may be accepted in lieu of the advance university degree. Work Experience At least seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in applied military, law enforcement or political analysis, research and/or studies in the field of criminology and/or crime statistics or corporate security, with international experience; Experience of the United Nations security management system is desirable.
