Posting1532 They say, the Everest is eroding silently. Well, the erosion may not be noticeable, as it cannot melt so obviously, as after all it has been the source of Jeeva Nadhis like Ganga from time immemorial. However, we have, now, lost another Everest in Iyakkunar Sikaram K.Balachander. Songscan says RIP to this Lagend! He has left behind a great legacy of movie stalwarts, who once debuted through him, such as Rajanikant, Y.G.Mahendra, Kamal Hassan, A.R.Rahman, Prakash Raj, Vivek. He always gave importance to the songs in his highly memorable films. Balachander even while working in the Accountant Generals Office at Madras in the sixties became prominent as an amateur playwright with his dynamic plays like Major Chandrakanth, Server Sundaram, Neerkumizhi, Mezhuguvarthi, and Navagraham staged through his Ragini Recreations. These plays, produced and directed by him, were all run away success with critical acclaim. Even before becoming a Film Director in Neerkumizhi (1965) he became a dialogue writer in the films Deiva Thai & Poojaikku Vantha Malar. His films were uncompromisingly unique & thought provoking. As all know, he was awarded the coveted Dadasaheb Phalke Award. As a mark of homage to KB we present the all time hit of SPB, Kamban Emanthan, penned by Kannadasan, music scored MSV, from one of KBs gems Nizhal Nijam aagirathu.
