Poultry-feed turns dearer on costlier inputs INDIA - 06 Mar, 2014 KARNAL Prices of poultry-feed increased this week following an uptrend in prices of key ingredients in the last few days. Higher input costs led feed prices upwards, said Aditya Mishra, a trade expert. Dearer soyameal mainly pushed feed prices up, he said. Prices of feed products have increased by ₹25-75 for a 50-kg bag. Traders expect that if soyameal continues to rally, feed prices may increase further in the coming days. In the physical market, soyameal went up by ₹1,400 to ₹38,000 a tonne, while bajra dropped by ₹1,200 and sold at ₹13,000 a quintal. Di-calcium phosphate moved up by ₹2.20 and was at ₹36.80 a kg while maize sold at ₹1,500 a quintal. DRB went up by ₹400 and sold for ₹8,500, Rice bran oil moved up by ₹2 and sold at ₹55 a kg, MBM improved by ₹1 and was at ₹42 while Mustard de-oiled cake increased by ₹200 and was at ₹15,000 a tonne. Pre-lay mash moved up by ₹50 and sold at ₹1,100. Layer concentrate 25 per cent was at ₹1,520, ₹30 up while Layer concentrate 35 per cent improved by ₹25 and was at ₹1,200. Broiler concentrate increased by ₹75 and quoted at ₹2,115 for a 50-kg bag. Broiler went up by ₹1 and was at ₹57 a kg, egg dropped by 8 paise and was at ₹3.27, while chick went for ₹13, ₹2 down.
