Poverty as a tradition… This lady was cooking a roast. She cut the end of it off and put it in the pot. Her husband asked her why? She said she didn’t know. She did it because her mom did it. She called her mom and asked her. Her mom said she didn’t know. Her mom said she did it because big momma did it. So she called big momma and asked her. Big Momma said, Oh I just did that because I couldn’t the roast to fit in the pot. Big momma couldn’t afford a bigger pot. She had to make this thing work. Now even though the grand daughter had a bigger pot, she is still practicing poverty, as a tradition.
