Power Outage Assessment (9:50 pm): Washington substation has lost power (1,767 members affected) due to 5 subtransmission poles broken as a result of a tornado touchdown along Braddy Road. We anticipate major reconstruction before power is restored to the Washington sub on Saturday afternoon. We also have 4 broken poles on the Duck Creek Circuit (Bath area) and 2 broken distribution poles on Slatestone Extension Rd. All of the above will require major resources and reconstruction. Power in that area will not be restored until well into Saturday. We have a small outage affecting 21 members along Old Roper Rd. No damage assessment yet. We also have 476 members without power on the Pungo circuit due to a fire at a local grain bin that has resulted in downed wire and a broken pole. We will provide additional details and timelines as soon as they become available. Additional crews are en route to assist Tideland EMC crews.
