Power Shut Down for Student Apartments and Merrill Street Buildings – October 3rd As part of the North Campus Steam Loop project, the contractor exposed an electrical conduit that needs to be relocated to accommodate the new the steam line vaults for this project. The electrical conduit is a high voltage line that serves multiple buildings. On Friday, October 3rd at 7:00 AM there will be a power shutdown for the following buildings: Counseling Center, Mary Taylor House, Human Resources, Nursing Lab (14 Merrill), Health Services (16 Merrill), Centre Lodge and all of the Student Apartments. At 8:00 AM, power will be restored for the Counseling Center, Mary Taylor House, Human Resources, Nursing Lab (14 Merrill), Health Services (16 Merrill), Centre Lodge and most of the Student Apartments except Moosilaukee, Cabot and Flume. If the contractor runs into any issues with the electrical lines, they will need to shut down power for all of the buildings mention above including Non-Traditional Apartments and Grafton Hall. With power remaining off for Moosilaukee, Cabot and Flume, the contractor will be relocating the electrical conduit. The anticipated time of the move will be approximately 12 hours. Once the electrical conduit is relocated (possibly 7:00 PM), power will need to be shut down again for Counseling Center, Mary Taylor House, Human Resources, Nursing Lab (14 Merrill), Health Services (16 Merrill), Centre Lodge and all of the Student Apartments to reconnect the electrical lines for Moosilaukee, Cabot and Flume. In order to prevent potential damage to your technology equipment, ITS strongly recommends that you fully shut down and unplug your desktops, copiers, printers and other peripheral devices when you leave work on Thursday and Friday evening or before 7:00 AM on October 3rd.
