Power To Resist Temptation: Jesus walked among sinners, and was surrounded by evil pleasures, but He never sinned! He was tempted, the same as we are, but He did not fall into Satans trap, not even one time! Jesus showed us the importance of a close connection to our Heavenly Father. He leaned on God to give Him the strength He needed to resist sinful temptations. He talked to God about everything and in fact, He was constantly in an attitude of prayer. The devil works hard to make sin look attractive, but whatever worldly pleasures we partake in, it will not satisfy our souls or give us true and lasting joy. Instead, it will leave us in deep despair, with a mountain of guilt and regret. Jesus wants us to know that we too can have the victory over sin! All we need to do is lean on Him! He will give us the courage to resist the devil and flee! As busy as Jesus was, He “made time” to pray! He spent long hours talking to God. Yes, Jesus, the Son of God, and Savior of the World, took time to pray, and if we want a close relationship with Him, we will do the same! Jesus is willing and able to give us the strength, power and desire, to resist temptation and claim the victory over sin! Text: 1 Peter 4:7, Romans 8:14, Luke 5:16, Is 59:1
