Power Within Us The Lord said in, Luke 17:21 …the kingdom of God is within you. And also in, 2 Peter 1:3-4 His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. Just as God is within you, so is power. Power is within you because God is within you. You do not find personal or spiritual power within you by sticking your finger into a lamp socket. You may find nutritional power by eating the proper food but the personal power, the spiritual power, and the mental or heart power we all desperately need is already within you. You do not need to go searching for power outside of yourself. You do not need to discover some secret to find power within you. The power of God is available to you and is within you if you are willing to make yourself available to God. If you are willing to be Gods child, then He rewards you by making His internal power residing within you a reality within you now. If you become selfless and give all you are to God, then God will give His power over to you. To receive His power requires little on your part after you give over to Him because His power is already within you and waiting for you to access it. There are so many situations in our life where we feel totally powerless. We have many circumstances in our life when it seems the whole world sits in our way and there is nothing we can do. We have many circumstances when virtual mountains of problems, cares, and worries render us as powerless as infants. In these times of feeling powerless we need to realize we are full and teeming with His power of love, His power of mercy, His power of forgiveness, and His power of hope. Without God we are headed for sure defeat because without God, we live in a world where we have no power over the circumstances of our life. With God we can be winners and victors because we have His power within us every second. Pastor Rubin Wilson
