Power of Pounds in our Pockets.(From a supporter’s previous FB post on May24 and June2 ) “Wildlife charity Care for the Wild undertook a survey of all the major stores to discover if there were options that consumers could use to show their objection to the badger cull. Philip Mansbridge, CEO of Care for the Wild, said The supermarket brands that were able to offer a guarantee that their milk came from a farm that did not take part in a badger cull trial area were: Asda, Waitrose and Marks & Spencer. Organic farmers though see the importance of not being associated with the badger cull as over 60% of organic foods buyer would actively steer clear of buying food from badger cull farms. This has led some major organic food producers such as Yeo Valley to make public statements that they will not be allowing badger culling activities on their own land. “Care for the Wild will update the list ongoing.
