Prairie City Elementary Students Go Tech with Their Gingerbread Hunt Ms. Hitchcock and Mrs. Mueller, PCE first grade teachers, held their annual Gingerbread Man Hunt before break. Ms. HIitchcock made QR codes for the children to find, scan into an IPad, and read the next clue on the hunt. For the hunt, clues were hidden around the school. The last clue revealed where the Gingerbread Boy was and then children enjoyed eating gingerbread cookies. Throughout the day, children read a variety of gingerbread stories and compared and contrasted each story. This activity supports the Iowa Common Core Standards for Reading for first grade: Compare and contrast the adventures and experiences of characters in stories.
