Praise God and continued prayer... Scott Haggerty Let me tell you about what God did for Abby today. Her surgery was successful and her doctor came into the room smiling, indicating that they accomplished everything they set out to do! Praise God! The glue was injected into the AVM and shut down 95% of it. This dramatically decreases the risk of another brain bleed. Tonight around midnight they will do another scan of Abbys brain to confirm successful blood flow continues, look at swelling, etc. In the coming days they will assess her stability and attempt the important process of weaning her from her breathing tube and certain medications. Several weeks following the doctors will then perform a one-time radiation treatment on Abby to shut down the AVM completely. Our prayers for Abby continue: - that her vitals remain stable, infection and fever free, with no additional bleeding during the critical time period between now and her radiation treatment - that swelling and fluid persisting from prior brain bleeds will dissipate rapidly - that Abby will open her beautiful eyes, showing purposeful movement and recovery To say we are in awe of the miracle God performed today is an understatement. Deb and I have found that where words fail to express how we feel, we simply drop to our knees in adoration of Gods great work. He truly demonstrated His power and faithfulness today for which we give Him all the glory.
