Prayers up for one of our most dedicated and generous brothers, John Maurer. He will kick my ass if he finds out I let the cat out of the bag. He recently had a MEDEVAC to the ER and was diagnosed with bad atrial fibrillation, requiring lots of meds, the blood thinner component impacting his other problem, vision loss. He joked that he had two choices, go blind or die. His birthday is 11 Sept. His "5-box" heart procedure to repair the afib is Friday, 13 Sept. He will be off the blood thinners for three days prior to surgery, while on the road, refusing to back out of another volunteer commitment. Please say some prayers for John Maurer, a good Marine known by all Ohio MCL members and many old Anglicans. Vance
