Pre-School Teacher Assistant Camino Nuevo - Los Angeles, CA Part-time Pre-school Teacher Assistant Camino Nuevo is a public charter school network serving low-income, primarily immigrant children in the MacArthur Park area near downtown. The Early Childhood Center is looking for dynamic and hard-working individuals to join our team. Work Basis: Mon- Thu: 12:15-4:15 ((Part time-approx 16hrs/week-10 month school year) Salary: Based on applicable experience; range of $8-$9 per hour Responsibilities Teacher Assistant will perform a full range of duties including, but not limited to: Carry out tasks assigned by the Lead Teacher Assume responsibility for small learning groups of children by preparing activities and turning in ahead of time to lead teacher. These responsibilities entail: Small group time Circle time Story time and any other activities that are planned by Lead Teacher Assist and work together with Lead Teacher and Associate Teacher in the maintenance for a safe and healthy environment Meet all applicable licensing regulations Assist in the implementation of student IEP and behavior goals through lesson planning and observations. Maintain confidentiality Assist in maintenance of student records of attendance and achievement: Assist in maintaining anecdotal records and provide input on student progress Assist in maintaining a yearly portfolio for each child in classroom Participate in regularly scheduled meetings such as Professional Development with Preschool staff Qualifications Applicants who possess the following skills will make the strongest candidates: MINIMUM REQ: Posses Child Development Associate Teacher Permit Bilingual (oral & written) Spanish/English required Experience working with young children required Demonstrated successful experience working with students Demonstrated ability to positively and professionally work with staff and parents alike * CNCA intends that all qualified person shall have equal opportunities for employment and promotion.
