**** Predator Cheating ***** Every race we get someone to come on here or another site and proclaim there is cheating going on in the predator. Well fact is there are cheaters in every thing in life. What can we do about it ? In the clone classes , with cheating is rampant for sure , because many have been caught and many more get by. So what is a track to do about cheating? Our predator engine rules were developed to take all the measuring out and simple limit the rpms to 5500 , which is the real cost of engines. Sure you can tinker with it and think you are doing something. Fact is , the 5500 rule is always were it stops. So cheat on. We have no measurements to go by and do not intend to tear a motor down , only to have no concrete rules to go by. So how do we know our system is working ? We know our system is working because we also do another thing called swapping engines. It could be 5 or 2 or any number we feel it should be. When we see karts on the track we may simply say that guy is fast and take his engine. We can not do that in clone for sure, but the rules in this class allow us to do that. This week is no exception , in one of our post the guy claims that everyone is cheating these motors up. Lets look into that a little. The guy who makes this statement was a team that we decided to use our experiment with. We took the pole winning engine , which was 3 tenths faster than any kart there and maybe over a half second faster than the complainer. We gave the complainer that engine and gave the fast pole sitter the complainers engine. We even thought , we got him now , and had made plans to award the complainer the win and make sure he was not given a cheating engine. Well it did not prove that the pole sitter was cheating , instead it proved the opposite. The pole sitter took the engine that he out qualified by half a second and went out and won by a straight away. What became of the complainer with the fast pole sitting engine ? He could do no better than 3rd with a supposed cheated up engine that was 3 tenths faster than the whole field. Our conclusion is the system worked. The guy everyone thought was cheating , proved his superiority over the field and it proves that the complainer had a fast engine , just not the kart to make it shine like the pole sitter. Why do I make this point ? I make this point because , complainers discourage others from competing. They spread mis information that taken on the surface would discourage anyone from competing. This is a good format , it is proven to be cheap to get in and proven that any engine in the field can win on the right kart. Make no mistake there is cheating going on in any engine class, the difference is we can not use the same extremes we use in the predator class to police the clone classes. We can only rely on teching some and that is it. As we have said before , if the predator class is believed by you to be a cheater class , then do not run it. That simple. Let others run it and believe in what we are trying to do. We look at karts and other things each race and will continue to develop this class. Is it perfect ? No. Are there people tying to cheat ? Yes. The fact is , if you did try and cheat , it was a poor effort ,because that 148 would have won the race using any engine in the field. he did win using the 5th place qualifiers engine. I do not know about you folks , but that seems to me as fair as it gets. He could have helped this class out by making a statement like I will make for him and it goes like this. I raced today and had may engine swapped after qualifying with the pole winning engine. I took the pole winning engine and could run no better than 3rd. The pole winning kart took my engine and won by a straight away. This proves to me that I could not win with his engine and also that my engine must be better than I thought because the pole winner checked out with it. I am now satisfied that my engine can win, because I seen it win on the track, just not on my kart.
