Preface... this video and what Im writing may cause a few different thoughts and reactions... it could change the way you think and ultimately live by producing excellence in an often neglected area within the body of Christ. My heart is to preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect(mature) in Christ Jesus(Colossians 1:28). The challenge in what Im trying to convey comes from the heart of God which is excellence. And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him(Colossians 3:17). My goal in love is to see the body healthy and mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ. I would dare say that standard is excellence. If Christ indwells in you then His excellency inside of you should produce excellence in all you do. Paul speaking in Romans 12:1 says, I beseech(plead) you therefore, brethen, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies(to give your bodies to God) a LIVING sacrifice, HOLY, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service(This is truly the way to worship Him). How do we worship God? One way is presenting our bodies(the temple of the Lord) to God a living HOLY sacrifice(offering). True worship is giving God back the best His given you. God sent the best He had, His Son Jesus Christ as a sacrifice to take away our sins. And God has given us His Spirit as proof that we live in Him and He in us(1 John 4:13). So if the Spirit of Christ whom was the best His Father Had died that we might be forgiven and for those who believe in Him now have this treasure(Christs Spirit) in earthen vessels(our bodies), that EXCELLENCE of power may be of God and not of us(2 Corinthians 4:7) wouldnt it stand to reason that God desires we strive and commit ourselves to living in excellence in all we do but especially with our bodies? Whatever is holy is healthy. Holy and healthy come from the same Old English word, Hal as in hallowed be thy name. They could be interchanged. We wouldnt have any problem agreeing that whatever isnt holy is evil. So by definition we could also surmise that whatever isnt healthy is evil. How many Christians then would be guilty of evil by how they are honoring God with their bodies by not living out excellency? Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price(Jesus death on the Cross); therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are Gods. Did you get that? Are Gods the Apostle Paul was wrote. The last verse Im using that just recently jumped out to me was written by John the apostle. In 3 John 2 he says, Dear friend, I hope all is well with you and that you are... AS HEALTHY in body as you are strong in spirit. This is huge friends... you cant be living a life of only pursuing spiritual excellency while slacking or neglecting your physical well being. You cant be pursing a genuine life of holiness or sanctification, which is the will of God(Thessalonians 4:3) if you arent doing all within your power, ability, and knowledge to pursue excellency with your physical man. Please watch this video and then reread what Ive written asking the Holy Spirit to reveal truth to you in any area that youre not pursuing excellency. Excellency matters to God. I do realize that many people are struggling with genetic conditions and certain physical issues that affects their health and efforts. Its not my intention to insult or belittle anyone who has serious medical conditions preventing them or causing the health related issue; however, I do believe that eating disorders are spiritual and those people need healing. Remember, whatever is not holy/healthy is evil. Evil is moral sickness which can and often does affect the physical which will lead to despair, disease, and death. If Christs excellency is inside of you, shouldnt it produce excellence in all you do? I would encourage you all to truly strive for excellency. For some that means beginning to learn, live, and implement a heath and fitness lifestyle through proper nutrition and exercise. If you are concerned, lost, and or need help in this area you can contact me or begin by seeking a qualified personal trainer near you. For some you may need spiritual guidance as well, depending on whether this is a stronghold for you. If you have just been half-heartedly attempting some form or exercise program or diet but acknowledge you havent been 100% committed to excellency then now is the time to renew your efforts to the Lord. youtu.be/xUmp67YDlHY
