Premier Li Keqiang and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Jointly Meet the Press 2013-10-23 On the morning of Oct. 23, 2013, Premier Li Keqiang of the State Council and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh jointly met the press. Li Keqiang introduced the consensus reached by the prime ministers on both sides, as well as the important achievements in political security, economic and trade cooperation, the cultural and people-to-people exchanges, and other aspects. He said that the common interests of China and India outweigh the differences. During the visit, the two countries issued a joint statement, laying out the plan for future development of the bilateral strategic partnership, and we believe that it will promote China-India relations to continue to march forward. Li Keqiang extended condolence to eastern India that suffered the hurricane disaster, thanked the Indian side for recently managing to rescue 17 Chinese sailors at the Bay of Bengal, and thought that it reflected the friendship between the two countries. He hoped that friends in the press circle can carry it further that the two countries enhance friendship, deepen cooperation and seek common development, with a louder voice. Manmohan Singh said that his meeting with Premier Li Keqiang is very productive, and broad consensus has been reached. India-China cooperation and development is of great significance to the prosperity and stability of Asia and the world. Maintaining good bilateral relations is Indias strategic desire. India is willing to make joint efforts with China to promote the stable and rapid development of India-China relations.
