Prepaid Payroll cards are the new "thing" for many businesses looking to skirt around the cost of payroll services. Unfortunately, these businesses mainly employ minimum wage workers who are gouged with fees just to access their paycheck. When you bring home $2,000 a pay check, $5 to check your balance may not mean much, but when you bring home $450 per pay check, little fees just to use money you earned add up quickly.
