Prepare yourself (lol, Ike..) because this might be a long one. What started out as a simple get together of Smash 4 fans has eventually succeeded in creating a community of its own that is huge and has something new everyday. It was my goal to have the largest and most prosperous Smash 4 centric group on Facebook, and weve made it a reality by accumulating over 4,400 members, more than any Smash group on Facebook with the exception of the Brawl group. It took alot of time, but weve done it. With both versions of the game out now, we have ALOT to look forward to, regardless of the type of player you are. With the WiFi being outstanding this time around, I have more confidence in hosting regular tournies here, so expect more of that. Im hoping to reach out to you guys alittle more and make this place even more tightknit. Were a community like no other, and I hope we stay that way. However, one particular problem is the division of casual/competitive players. Both are great, but I want to open up both options to everyone and get them invested in both. Even though Im a competitive player at heart, after seeing how this group has thrived, and understanding what Sakurai and Nintendo are trying to achieve with this installment, I feel like I want to merge the two abit. Ive been playing more casual matches against some of the admins here, and its plenty of fun. I also have serious matches as well. This is a prime example of a competitive player messing around casually from time to time. On the other hand, I want to hopefully convince casual players to look at the game abit more indepth so they can hone their skills and become viable threats in upcoming tournaments. After all, having a one on one duel to the death with a worthy opponent is hella fun too. Honestly, Im not sure where Im going with this post. I just had a sort of epiphany involving the Smash fanbase as a whole, as well as the way this group has evolved since its inception. All I can say is that with this new game out, ALOT of things are going to happen over this games lifespan, and hopefully itll bring us great joy in this time where Smash has taken center stage. Thank you all for being a part of this group, and this community.
