Preparing Your Business to Deal with Disaster As the recent flooding in Calgary and Toronto have reminded us, disasters can strike where and when we least expect them. Though it’s hard to predict what will happen in these situations, the best way to protect yourself is to plan ahead for what might happen. The North Shore Emergency Management Office (NSEMO)—the tri-municipal agency serving North and West Vancouver—and the University of British Columbia’s School of Community and Regional Planning (SCARP) are working together to develop tools to help businesses better prepare to respond to emergencies and disasters.
