Preparing for your well-being in retirement What does well-being mean to you? As Americans age, they consistently report high levels of #retirement well-being, including fewer feelings of sadness and depression than any other age group. In addition, older Americans are more likely to increase their healthy behaviors. This type of well-being doesnt just happen. It takes plenty of thought and planning that goes beyond saving for a certain financial retirement goal. Take work, for example. Eighty percent of people say they will work in retirement, but only about 20 percent actually do, says Joseph Coughlin, Ph.D., Director of AgeLab, a multidisciplinary team of Massachusetts Institute of Technology experts focused on aging. Youll need to ask yourself if you think your appearance and brainpower will be sharp enough for you to work in your sixties and seventies. Other things to think about, says Coughlin, are whether or not you live in a place where you can get around without having to drive or if your home is set up so you can stay there as long as you would like. The answers to questions like these can help determine your true well-being in retirement. To Know More visit us @ findmeanadvisor
