Present BJP government and anti SEZ activists have been fixed by the indomitable casino and SEZ coalition There was a time in Bombay now rechristened as Mumbai that large no of Bombay Christians and East Indians used to own commercial units and were residing in big luxurious accommodations, however with the passage of time most of these Christians and East Indians succumbed to short term greed and sold their businesses as well as their big abodes to the North Indians , Gujaratis etc . In Our Lady Of Dolours Church at Dhobitalao there used to be 4 Masses each Sunday, and each Mass was attended by 1000 people, now there are not even 100 people for a mass. And the worse, today the posterity of these then well to do Christians and East Indians in Mumbai are doing menial jobs to eke out their living and are squeezing themselves in tiny abodes. Forget about the present sorry state of affairs of Christians and east Indians in Mumbai, this will be the state of us all Goans in bhagaranchea goem (Golden Goa ), where land and abodes are being captured by the non Goans especially the Casino SEZ-Mafia hailing from outside Goa including Nepal . The cancer caused by Casino SEZ mafia is not only going to affect Christians but all niz Goemkars in Goa irrespective of their caste and creed. First they will take our daughters, then our wives and then our homes . As such they have already taken three-fourths of our property in the Tiracol Village of our Goa State. If corrective measures are not taken immediately against Casino SEZ-Mafia very soon Goans will become foreigners in their own land. And outsiders including Nepalese would become the majority population of Goa. While the Mandovi river has been completely swamped by off shore Casinos, Zuari river is the next river which is going to be taken over by the casino mafia mainly by off shore casinos. Recently, the MPT Chairman P Mara Pandiyan stated that two proposals for starting floating casinos at Mormugao port has been received by his office . Though MPT Chairman P Mara Pandiyan clearly believes that these casinos would hardly lead into any substantial earnings of Mormugao Port but it will benefit tourism of Goa. I think MPT Chairman P Mara Pandiyan needs to first get enlightened about the fact that catastrophic damage in terms of environmental and social aspect that has happened from off shore casinos stationed on Panjim jetty and over all beauty of the Capital City of Goa . I want to ask MPT Chairman P Mara Pandiyan a second question has he really done a quantitative analysis on the so called boost to tourism caused by these gambling houses? I admit MPT Chairman P Mara Pandiyan is too gullible and simpleton to believe that casinos be it off shore or even on shore housed in 5 star hotels are doing good for the State of Goa . Casinos have completely destroyed Goa and Goans, increasing number of Niz goemkars have become casino addicts and their family life has got completely devastated due to this addiction in Casinos. Our river Mandovi is facing ecological disaster because of the effluents discharged by these gambling dens house in the boats. The so called boost to tourism according to the senior IAS officer MPT Chairman P Mara Pandiyan in reality is not at all advancement of tourism but making Goa a gambling capital of India . It is a very serious matter that MPT Chairman P Mara Pandiyan has now started talking on behalf Casinos because whether they are off shore on shore ones they are seen to be the avenues of prostitution, drug addiction , money laundering etc . etc. Like our CM Manohar Parrikar, Pandiyan has become a new spokesperson for casino lobby in Goa. Another luminary, from which the whole Goa wants to hear is that why there is complete pin drop silence from anti SEZ activist Franky Monteiro on the SEZ –CASINO nexus . Isn’t he aware that the promoters of SEZ in Goa and Delta Corp company which operates Casinos like Casino Royale ,Caravella and now the illegal Horseshoe anchored on Mandovi are one and the same ? Why is our Lotoulim firebrand activist called Franky Monteiro quiet on the shenanigans of the owner of Delta Corp Jaideb Mody and his brother in arms tycoon Ashok PIramal of Peninsula India Ltd who are there to grab almost all the land of Goa and displace Goemkars from their own land . As it is been already stated by Peninsula India that it is developing 3 Special Economic Zones : 170 acres for the development of Biotechnology SEZs,30 acres for the development of Gems & Jewelry SEZ and 20.36 hectares land at Sancoale for Pharma Research. During the erstwhile Congress regime , Franky Monteiro like our present CM then the ruler of Opposition Manohar Parrikar used to shout from the rooftop against the ill effects caused to Goa by SEZ and the casinos. Like Parrikar it seems even our Franky Monteiro has been fixed by the terrible but lethal combination of SEZ and Casino. Or he should make his stand clear what is the position of the matter on SEZ in the Supreme Court Even our doughty Cooperation of City of Panjim (CCP) Mayor Surendra Furtado seems to have got his lips glued to the continuing ill legal occupation of Mandovi River by Mody’s Horseshoe Casino which is nothing but a vessel ? What has happened Surendra Bab to your dreams of getting Panjim and its surrounding areas rid of all casinos? Why is the CCP boss silent on our Mandovi River becoming a casino river ? He has all the power now ,even the BJP Corporators would support him to get Casinos removed for good from Mandovi river. As seen in the last meeting of the CCP, despite the Opposition dispensation belonging to the CM Manohar group they were all one in supporting the removal of casinos from the river Mandovi. I think the people of Panjim have pinned their last hope on you Surendra bab as they have been ditched by their own MLA Manohar Parrikar who used the very same Ponjekars to come to power. Though no permission has yet been given to the vessel Horseshoe , invitations are being printed out and casino operators are openly saying we don’t care whoever opposes us and Manohar Parrikar will be the first person to grant us permission . I call upon all the people of Goa to get up and save the State, Please get the Horse Shoe off shore casino evicted out of goa as it is illegally anchored now and awaiting clearance from IIT award wining BJP MLA from Panjim and CM Manohar Parrikar. The removal of Horseshoe casino will be the first step to save Goa . At least the message will go that that Goan wont allow politicians to sell Goa . I as a Congress MLA from Curtorim Constituency will be the first person to join you without any condition , then the other MLAs will have no choice but to join our efforts in the interest of the State. Till date, there is no gaming Commission to check the illegal business conducted by the Casinos in Goa . No one knows the real daily gaming revenue earned by both the offshore and onshore which runs into lacs and for some into crores of Rupees but actual figure are never mentioned . Then on the name of providing employment the department of labour and Employment of Goa Government is clueless on the actual employment provided to Goans . Most of the casinos employ non Goans especially from Nepal , Britain, Ireland , Zimbabwe, Lebanon etc etc in high profile jobs whereas Goans are absorbed in unskilled work. Talented Goans working in the casinos of Goa are harassed and eventually they quit there jobs in frustration. Most of the Goans appointed in casino jobs are abused and exploited . And casino operators openly flaunt among themselves that we can even provide Goan girls. But some of our politicians are hand in gloves with these Casino SEZ coalition and selling themselves for few crumbs.
