Presentation on My City PRATAPGARH Pratapgarh is newest constituted district in Rajasthan state. It came into existance on 26thJanurary, 2008 as 33rddistrict of Rajasthan. It was carved out from Chittorgarh, Banswara & Udaipurdistricts. It is situated in the junction of the Aravali mountain ranges and the Malwa Plateau; hence the characteristics of both prominently feature in the area. Pratapgarh is located at 24.03° North & 74.78° East. It has an average elevation of 491 meters (1610 feet). Well known for pure gold and glass-inlay handmade unique jewelry called "Thewa". Local Theva art is also very famous in India and all over the world it is made with golden work on mirror. Pratapgarh has two markets first one is main market that’s call Sadar bazar & second one is Gopal ganj. Many cloths & jewellery shops. In earlier time Raja Pratap Singh was the king of Pratapgarh and Devgarh was their capital. At presently in Pratapgarh there are 5 districts panchayat council, 152 village’s council and 2 municipal areas which are Choti Sadari and Pratapgarh. The Asafetida (Hing, Hingda), Aam Papad and the Gotmeshwar temple. Sita Mata wild life sanctuary and Jhakam dam are also picturesque and tourism places in Pratapgarh. In education field Pratapgarh is progressing by leaps and bounds. Here are Government P.G. College, One Politechnique Engineering College and ofcourse ITI.
