President Alex Gavrilovic and Secretary-General Bronwyn Thompson - TopicsExpress

President Alex Gavrilovic and Secretary-General Bronwyn Thompson attended the Oceania Continent Handball Federation Congress in Guam on October 23-24. IHF President Dr Moustafa opened the proceedings and IHF officer Eloide Vitalis announced a range of support activities for the region - continuing the Challenge trophy, adding a Beach Trophy (for countries other than Australia and New Zealand) and highlighting the IHF Handball@School project. The congress noted work done by folks across Oceanias 24 year history and welcomed the new nations. Australian and New Zealand representatives also met with Dr Moustafa to discuss development plans for the two countries – work is being done to further identify this. News on the World Championships’ qualification pathways update is due later this month. A news item is on the IHF site at ihf.info/MediaCenter/News/NewsDetails/tabid/130/Default.aspx?ID=2174 Thanks to our hosts Guam and welcome to new President Ricardo Blas. The new links with the Oceania Olympic Committees will hopefully help provide resources and opportunities across the region. Australia also looks forward to being invited back into the Pacific Games and to further collaborations with other member nations.
