President Jonathan, like any other Nigerian, has the right to - TopicsExpress

President Jonathan, like any other Nigerian, has the right to aspire or contest for any elective post in the country, including the Presidency: to vote or be voted for. His eligibility can only be determined by appropriate authorities; and his election by the electorate. It is not left for disgruntled cabals, who think the rulership of Nigeria is their father’s property, to dictate to him whether to contest or not. Those patrons of terrorist groups, should know they can never climb to power through: violence, killing and intimidation of people from Southern part of the country. They have ruled Nigeria for close to four decades since independence, with little to show for it. Those juntas that ruled and looted the country individually for eight years, and more, are they superior human beings? If those parochial cabals are for equity and fare play, they shouldn’t be talking and scheming for power shift to the north in next fourteen years, when South South and South East Zone, will have served their terms in producing the President of Nigeria. What makes them think power must shift to the North? Is it because they are more intelligent or more qualified than the rest of the country? Those cabals and sponsors of terrorism, have inflated idea of their worth. It is sad to note generality of political leaders from South East, are self-centred people. Presidency of Nigeria has eluded them for almost five decades now; and they are not doing anything serious about it. They love playing second fiddle to other zones, or being at the corridor of power: to their intellectual juniors. No wonder, the South East Geo- political zone continues to remain the least developed as well as the zone with the least number of states. One day, God Almighty will intervene.
