President hosts School netball team for refreshments By James Mwambai, Nairobi, 4th April 2014, (PSCU) State House Girls netball team this evening had an opportunity to share refreshments with President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House Nairobi. The President found the team practicing at their netball pitch, which is within State house grounds when he a lighted from a helicopter while returning to State House Nairobi from Kiganjo where he presided over the graduation ceremony of police recruits. The excited students were happy to receive the President who invited them for refreshments. During the refreshments, President Kenyatta advised the students from State House to not only work hard in their academic work but also in the co-curriculum activities which will open wider opportunities for them in life. He wished them success as they prepare to represent their district in the upcoming inter-district competition next term. The teams’ coach George William said State House Girls netball team was runners up after it defeated teams of St. Georges Girls High School, Lavington Girls High school and Kenya High Girls in Westland’s district competition. The winner of the district netball competition was Arya Girls Parklands netball team and the two teams are scheduled to represent the Westland’s district in the inter-district competition to be held in the schools next term calendar.
