Press Broadcast : Happy International Volunteers Day!!! To commemorate the Day, Yayasan Sukarelawan Siswa (YSS), 100% entity under the Ministry of Education, Malaysia (KPM), is celebrating the Closing of our YSS Students Volunteer Mission in Kampung Tunoh, Ulu Rajang/Kapit, Sarawak. 30 Student Volunteers from various universities & institutions of higher learning (IPT, IPG & Politeknik) in Malaysia participated in this YSS Mission for 2weeks. During this YSS Mission, all 30 Student Volunteers did Volunteer WORK - (1) They helped build Susur Gajah- covered pavement (150metres) for the benefit of local schoolchildren to connect their hostel to the school under difficult terrain. (2) They helped repair school toilets. (3) They taught Fun Learning to local schoolchildren. (4) They conducted Tengau Hidup Baru - Forum Bicara Kampus, to all 5 Longhouses /Rumah Panjang at KgTunoh. Each Longhouse has 22-30 families. As Role Model & Student Volunteer Leaders, they gave insights on how to apply for further studies & tertiary education for the benefit of local children, a programme that touched the hearts of the community. YSS is proud of the Volunteer Work of ALL our Student Volunteers, not only from this Kapit Mission, but also from ALL the previous Missions undertaken whether locally or abroad in Lao PDR and Vietnam. WE WISH EVERYONE HAPPY INTERNATIONAL VOLUNTEERS DAY. From our hearts, thank you for your support and our gratitude goes to all our friends at KPM, IPT, IPG, Politeknik, Kolej Komuniti, sponsors, collaborators, and communities that have helped nurture our Student Volunteers to become Global Volunteers and Ikon Sukarelawan.
