Press Release Ministry of Home Affairs and Transport 21st September 2013 Marek Trajter presented to Slovakian Judicial process and denied bail. The Ministry of Home Affairs and Transport, following a press conference held yesterday 20th September 2013, where all Seychelles media houses were invited to attend, wishes to confirm that it has received confirmation that Mr. Marek Trajter has appeared before a court in Bratislava, Slovakia, in connection with the international arrest warrant for him. Appearing in court the defence for Mr. Trajter alleged that his client Mr. Trajter had been kidnapped by authorities in the Seychelles. The court rejected the argument stating that it accepted the official documents produced from the Immigration authorities of the Republic of Seychelles, which included decisions of the courts in the Seychelles, the revocation of Seychelles citizenship for Marek Trajter, and the deportation order for Marek Trajter from the Seychelles to Slovakia. The court in Bratislava has denied bail request for Marek Trajter on the basis that the crimes alleged against him were considered to be very serious, that there was a concern that he would attempt to leave the country, taking into account all his efforts not to return to Slovakia from Seychelles, and as well strong concerns for the safety of the witnesses for the prosecution, should Marek Trajter be granted bail. The Slovakia authorities were also satisfied as to the medical condition of Mr. Marek Trajter, having gone under a medical check once in the custody of the Slovakian police authorities, finding Trajter to be in good health with no traces of bodily harm. The examining doctor noted that Marek Trajter stated to him that he had no medical complaints. On the matter as to whether travel documents cannot be issued to non-Seychellois as stated by Mr. Marek Trajter’s lawyer here, the Immigration Department wishes to confirm that a total of forty four (44) travel documents (TD) have been issued to non-Seychellois, since January 2013 to date, to accommodate their departure from the Seychelles to their home country. Travel documents have been issued to assist persons who have lost their own passports while in the Seychelles. END.
