Press Release Wednesday, 09th July, 2014 FIND OTHER PLACES – IRATE PUPIL URGES SDAS An irate pupil of Mkushi Coppermine Secondary School has advised the Seventh Day Adventist Church to find other places, other than the school, for their church services and programmes. Speaking in an interview with the Press team, a grade 12 pupil who refused to be mentioned said he understood the importance of every church but he was peeved by the intolerable and copious activities of the SDAs in school. The boy further said SDAs should not mistake Coppermine Secondary for Rusangu or any of their mission centres that their worship should paralyse everything and everyone. “It is illogical to think they are the only ones in school who know how to worship. In as far as I am concerned, a godly worship should not disturb anyone’s peace.” The boy said. Another grade 12 from the girls section said it is time the administration reminded the SDAs that Coppermine Secondary is a government school that embraces different dominations. Denominational services should not hinder school programmes especially during the course of the term. The girl further advised that next time, SDAs should choose places that are away from the schools if they are to hold a church service. These comments follow the recent SDA Youth Campus Ministries camp held at Mkushi Coppermine Secondary School that apparently impeded on the school programmes such as the routine entertainment and the scheduled Variety Show. The Patron for SDA Youths at Coppermine Secondary School, Mr. J. Musonda refused to comment on the matter and directed all queries to the administration. GEOGRAPHY CLUB HAILS THEIR PATRON The Geography Club of Mkushi Coppermine Secondary School has saluted the exemplary leadership of their Patron, Mr. B.P Chibozyi. And Club President, Chrispine Mponje has advised his fellow pupils to take pleasure in academic clubs. Mponje said his club members were deeply humbled by the determination and workmanship of their Patron Mr. B.P Chibozyi who has exposed them to different places through educational tours. Mponje further asked other Club Patrons and Matrons to emulate the leadership of Mr. Chibozyi if their clubs are to be successful in their programmes. Mponje said this on Friday, 05th July, 2014, immediately after disembarking from a school bus that had taken the club for an educational tour to Nsobe Game Reserve in Ndola. LUANO DISTRICT CAMP AHEAD INTER-SCHOOLS Ball games players selected to represent Luano district have encamped at Mkushi Coppermine Secondary School ahead of the inter-district competition. Machile said in spite of the camp beginning yesterday, his team has been training since last week. Mr. Machile said his boys are ripe to face any team. He however complained of none reporting to camp of some players selected from other schools such as Twikatane and old Mkushi. Correspondingly, Luano District Chairperson, Mr. Kaonga, has bemoaned the poor response of some selected players.
