Press Release for Football Family The corruption and match-fixing scandal in 2010-2011 season of Turkish Super League has been revealed as of July 3, 2011. Since July 2011; Turkish, European and worldwide football family have been witnessing the violation of not only UEFA and FIFA Statutes and Disciplinary Regulations, but also fundamental principles of law in Turkey. Despite the ruling of Criminal and Supreme Criminal Courts, the first ethics committee report, thousands of pages of telephone conversations, money transfers and finally recent UEFA and CAS disciplinary sanctions; all of which evidence match-fixing in 2010-2011 season of Turkish Super League beyond reasonable doubt; we have been witnessing a “meaningful resistance” against legal principles in Turkey. Despite statutory objectives overtly stated in the UEFA and FIFA statutes; the infringement thereof through match-fixing have not been duly prosecuted by Turkish Football Federation. Moreover, the disciplinary regulation of Turkish Football Federation has been amended; the members of disciplinary and arbitration committees have been removed and replaced; the disciplinary rulings include mistranslated CAS decisions and a second ethic committee report has been drafted with no major legal basis. Our application before Turkish Football Federation following UEFA and CAS decisions, has been rejected. Consequently, there had been no effective disciplinary measures against match-fixing and the convicted criminal group. We would like to remind that; pursuant to UEFA and FIFA Statutes, the member associations shall observe the principles of loyalty, integrity and sportsmanship in accordance with the principles of fair play and also comply with UEFA and FIFA Statutes, regulations and decisions. By the same token, Trabzonspor FC has filed an application before UEFA and FIFA, as of 31 January 2014. In the application, Trabzonspor FC urged UEFA and FIFA organs: to directly intervene in Turkish Football League and to sanction the clubs as well as the individuals liable with match-fixing actions committed in 2010-2011 season of Turkish Football League and to take all necessary steps so as Trabzonspor FC is registered and declared as the champion of Turkish Super League in 2010-2011 season. Entire football family is aware of the fact that Trabzonspor FC has been the champion of 2010-2011 season of Turkish Super League, that Trabzonspor FC has been deprived of its rights through match-fixing and that it will legally reach its title despite audacious efforts (!) of certain football officers. Trabzonspor FC reserves its right to claim damages against the competent national and international organisations and bodies before Turkish and Swiss courts.
