Press Statement. FAITH MAJEMITE PICKS COMRADE IZU CHRISTOPHER AS VICE-CHAIRMANSHIP CANDIDATE, AS PART OF INTENTIONS TO MAKE YOUTHS CORE FOCUS IN LOCAL GOVERNMENT ADMINISTRATION. Ethiope East Local Government (LGA) PDP candidate for the October 25 elections, Chief (Mrs) Faith Majemite has commenced fulfillment of electioneering promises to make youths her central focus in local government administration by picking a vibrant and well cultured ex-student Union leader, Comrade Izu Christopher as her Vice-Chairmanship candidate. Majemite in a press statement made available to the Press through the Head of Political Communication Unit of Faith Majemite Solidarity Movement (FMSM), Dr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, disclosed that the choice of Comrade Izu is anchored on her deliberate youth’s policy aimed at integrating them into the scheme of things in politics and socio-economic advancement of the LGA. She opined that carrying the youths along at all levels of governance will greatly expose them to learn within the system and grow to become good leaders and public administrators with the expectant results of bringing quality dividend of democracy to their respective LGAs, constituencies and senatorial districts. Chief (Mrs) Faith Majemite who is the Oniemor of Agbona Kingdom (meaning, Mother of Children in Agbon Kingdom) said one of her traditional constitutional roles and responsibility is to ensure that children and youths across Agbon Kingdom and Nigeria in general are well-cared for and nurtured to become well polished political actors and great future leaders. She asserted that Governor Uduaghan’s administration in response to President Jonathan youths development policy have extensively elevated the socio-economic status of Delta youths through various poverty eradication and empowerment as well as vocational skills acquisition programmes, pointing that as a core loyalist of Governor Uduaghan’s political family she would empower the youths like her boss/leader so that peace, security and economic prosperity will be restored to all communities in Ethiope East LGA during her tenure as Chairperson. The Oniemor of Agbon Kingdom and Ogherimor of Abraka Kingdom, described Comrade Izu Christopher as a vibrate and well organized youth leader whose absolute loyalty to PDP in the State and Ethiope East LGA prompted her to pick him as her Vice-Chairmanship candidate with specific core responsibility to liaise with youths across the LGA so as to achieve justice, equity and economic prosperity for all and sundry, amongst other responsibilities. She further described her vice-chairmanship candidate as “a level-headed rising political star who will remain relevant in the political scheme of things in progressive politics as we make reasonable efforts towards attaining high standard local government administration anchored on accountability, transparency and open door policy”, the statement added. Comrade Izu Christopher was two times President of the National Association of Delta State Students (NADESSTU), Delsu Abraka Campus, Ex-Student Union Government Representative Council member (SRC), Delta State University, Abraka. He also monitored Projects in Ethiope East Local Government, Chairman, Environmental Sanitation Committee of Ethiope East LG, Youth leader, Urhobo Consultative Forum (UCF) Ethiope East chapter and Ward 1 Vice-Chairman of Urhobo People’s Congress (UPC) and others too numerous to mention.
