Press conference in Vilonia this morning. David Hogue spoke with the news media. Search and Rescue is underway. Officials are asking all civilian volunteers not to come to the area at this time. They say there will be a time when they will be needed, but at this time the professionals are on scene conducting search and rescue efforts. Anyone wanting to enter the area will be asked for ID and a valid reason for being there. He confirmed there are 10 known deaths in Faulkner County at this time. He remains hopeful this will be all, but says he is also being realistic, and the number could rise. County Judges offices are coordinating the efforts. Area Sheriffs and deputies, search dogs, Fire Department personnel, Entergy and National Guard personnel are some of the agencies on scene doing searches. Hogue reported at least 60 homes in Mayflower destroyed or damaged and many more than that in Vilonia. Donations are being accepted at some area churches and schools. Governor Beebe has declared Faulkner, White and Pulaski disaster areas.
