Prime Minister Stephen Harper says Canada is weighing an extended military role in the Middle East. He says hes just received a request in the last few days, from the U.S. government, for further involvement in the fight against Islamist rebels. Harper made the announcement in a question-and-answer session before the New York business community. He says there needs to be some debate within the government before he can make a decision.
