Prince Osama Erediauwas defection to the opposition party in Edo - TopicsExpress

Prince Osama Erediauwas defection to the opposition party in Edo State should not be an avenue to drag the palace into partisan politics or cause an aura of tension and unfriendliness in Edo State. The defector, like every other citizen of Edo State has the constitutional right to take any decision insofar as it is not inimical or at variance with the law. But I am flummoxed to see on video how his welcome ceremony to his new party has gone viral and the propaganda it tends to create on social networks and news portals. With due respect to the exalted throne of the Oba, I am very sure that, the prince acted on his own - and his action does not beam any ray of the palaces disagreement or disappointment in Oshiomholes led government. Let us not forget that his former position in the government was on appointment and in every sense he can decide at any point to resign and make his choice. For anybody to think that his defection to PDP is a sign of the palace inclination to the opposition is a sheer foolishness and an affront to the collective psyche of the people. As a free citizen of Edo State, I am unequivocally equidistant when it comes to politicking, but embraces good governance geared towards the well being of the people. To this end, it will be churlish of any office-seeker to translate my opinion to mean that, I am an avid apologist of the present administration . My contribution is to remove the scale off the inner eye of many who are bamboozled with this development and thus brainwashed to believe that it is hunky-dory in PDP. This is politics and the players are out to pick the ace. Therefore, the voters must conscientiously know how to drop his or her card.
