Prince came to FFOA when his elderly owner was no longer able to - TopicsExpress

Prince came to FFOA when his elderly owner was no longer able to take care of him. Prince mourned his owner for a long time and was depressed and would not eat well. With some TLC from Sheana, he finally began eating chicken that was hand fed to him. We thought we had him ready to put on the adoption list and we received many inquiries. Two weeks ago, Sheana took him to see her vet and we were told that he had an anal infection. Since that time, he has lost 5 pounds; weight he could not afford to lose. He had a recheck today and it was determined that he has perianal fistulas. This is a serious medical condition that is prominent in German Shepherds. He has surgery scheduled for May 20th with Dr. Thompson in West Virginia. The surgery will cost approximately $800 to $1200. I know that we are always asking for donations, gifts, etc. unfortunately, we would not be able to survive without them. This is one example of one animal that we will need to spend a significant amount of money on and then turn around and adopt him for $200.00. He is a wonderful dog and we will gladly do whatever it takes for him. If you would like to contribute to his well-being, you can send a check to us, drop a check off at the shelter, or send a payment via PayPal. If you choose to help, please indicate that it is for Prince. As always, we appreciate your support and assistance more than you can possibly know! God Bless!
