Princess Ariel is starting to take shape for baby girl..I got a chance to bond with my step kids so much this summer..I will say Im glad Im maxed out on overtime this week so I dont have time to dwell on them being gone..this summer was so different than last summer(as youd expect since last year was when they met me)..this year Ant would randomly walk up and hug me more than Blaine even does and Brooke for the first time ever told me she loved me and actually started snuggling up to me(I had decided I would let them come to me on their own terms..not be one of those women that shoves herself on the kids..Brooke was the most standoffish cause Im sure she was concerned I was just stealing her daddy but even she started randomly hugging and snuggling up to me)..now writing this post makes me want to cry but I wanted to share..its one thing to have your own kids love you..my baby boy is my heart and always will be and that comes natural..but to have someone elses children come into your life and show you love the way your own child does is an accomplishment that not many parents will ever know(especially since Ive had to scold and punish..always a tricky thing as a step parent)..your blood expects you to love them and it comes natural to show that love..for children to open up and show you love that was reserved for their blood parents is truly special and I am definitely enjoying being their bonus parent and Im missing em terrible..
