Pro 2 Unlimited Pro 2 Unlimited was a very action-packed race - TopicsExpress

Pro 2 Unlimited Pro 2 Unlimited was a very action-packed race here tonight, and it was Marty Hart who had the early lead in his #15 ReadyLift Off Road Suspension/GearUp2Go Ford. Behind Hart, a dangerous group of drivers were trying to hunt him down, and that pack of wolves included Carl Renezeder, Robby Woods, Bryce Menzies, Rob MacCachren, and Brian Deegan. Menzies made a great run through turn two after a restart, and picked off both Woods and Renezeder to go from fourth to second. After that, though, nobody seemed to have an answer for the pure pace of “The Cowboy” Hart. For lap after lap, the top six remained evenly spaced and running clean, but with just a handful of laps remaining, a pair of full course yellows really helped to re-shape things. After the second of those yellow flags, there would be just two laps remaining, and on the restart lap, Menzies got by Hart out of turn four to take the lead within just a couple of corners of the white flag. Menzies stayed strong out front to pick up his first win since returning to the series with Stronghold Motorsports and the #70 Loctite/BFGoodrich Tires Ford just one race weekend ago, with Hart coming tantalizingly close in second. Third was very controversial, as Deegan crossed the line third, but was then docked one lap and dropped to the last finishing position on that lap after taking out MacCachren in turn four on the final lap. This dropped Deegan to thirteenth, and moved Woods up to third in the #99 Lucas Slick Mist/General Tire Chevrolet. Fourth went to Austin Kimbrell in the #88 LoanMart/BFGoodrich Tires Ford, and fifth to MacCachren in the #21 Rockstar/Makita Ford. Pro 4 Unlimited Pro 4 Unlimited was full of surprises. After seeing his seven race win streak come to an end in Round 8, Carl Renezeder’s luck took a turn for the worse tonight, as he went out early with a major mechanical issue. This opened the door for his competition, who have all faltered on more than one occasion this year, to make some significant inroads towards closing the points gap. Kyle LeDuc and Eric Barron ran one-two for much of this race, but after a bold dive into turn three saw Barron slam LeDuc door to door and force him wide, Barron assumed the lead, with LeDuc falling by the wayside on the following lap. Barron’s luck wasn’t much better, though, as he also dropped out just a few laps later with a sudden mechanical issue. Rob MacCachren assumed the lead in his #21 Rockstar/Makita Ford with just a few laps remaining, but had his mirrors full of Greg Adler in the #10 ProComp/4 Wheel Parts Ford. MacCachren seemed to be fighting a truck that just didn’t want to turn, and as his machine pushed wide out of turn five, Adler got inside and hammered out of the corner to take the lead with just one lap to go. MacCachren did his best to battle back on the last lap, but it seemed like the harder he pushed, the faster Adler got away, and it was Adler who picked up his first-ever win in Pro 4 Unlimited- congratulations Greg! MacCachren picked up second, with an ecstatic Curt LeDuc third in his #43 UltraWheel/K&N Ford. Fourth was Jerry Daugherty in the #23 E3 Spark Plugs/Racin’ Dirty Chevrolet, and fifth was Brandon Bailey in the #77 Loctite/Toyo Tires Ford.
