Problem solution starts with problem identification. Successful Managers do not make excuses when confronted with problems. Problems should bring out the innovation, skills and competencies in Managers. Managers should strive to make the best out of whatever situation with the available resources and this could open the eyes of stakeholders (actual and potential) to either commit more resources or advocate for same. Managers do not shift blame because it takes lot of energy to do same. Managers should use that energy positively and attack the problems head on even if it means putting together a small internal champion team to brainstorm and identify short, medium and long term solutions. The latter should be documented and disseminated to the relevant stakeholders. From my experience, the needs are always more than the available resources so never wait to get all the resources before you can take action. Shifting blame is an indicator of ineptitude. I rest.
