Process Plant Operator Lawter is a global business that manufactures products developed using pine chemical resources. Essentially, we produce a comprehensive range of chemicals that serve the graphic arts, adhesives, specialty coatings, aroma chemicals and the synthetic rubber industries. We are growing our team and in doing so we are now seeking applicants who would like to be considered for one of two vacant Process Plant Operator positions at our Mt Maunganui site. Working in a team of 5 Operators and reporting to the Senior Operator on shift, the Process Plant Operator is responsible for the operation of all our production plants. There are 4 main plant areas on our site including 2 distillation plants. The primary focus of the Process Plant Operator is the operation and maintenance of these areas, ensuring the safe and timely manufacture of products. The position works on a rotating 12 hour shift roster, consisting of 2 days, 2 nights, and 4 days off. Ideally, you will have a sound academic background, be mechanically minded and have had previous experience working in a Chemical Processing Plant. Importantly, you will be able to trouble shoot and think through complex problems laterally. You should have a proven ability to work well in a high pressure environment, as well as, a keen interest in developing a career within the chemical industry. The successful applicant must be able to work as part of a team but also be able to work autonomously. Working in a Chemical Plant environment, it is essential that you be health and safety conscious. Team fit and a can do attitude will be important factors in the selection of the successful applicant and having a fork lift license would be advantageous, but not essential. We are looking for someone that wants to progress their career, is interested in training and development opportunities, and, one day, aspires to manage a team of operators.
