Produced by the Associated Students of San Francisco State College, this dance/concert was billed as their Homecoming and Edwardian Ball. This early piece has become a classic iconic Poster From The Past. With its Psychedelic paisley design incorporated and the very smartly dressed Edwardian attired Gentleman, it is where I originally borrowed the look for the character which eventually I became to call Professor Poster. It was 48 years ago on this day back in 1966, that The Edwardian Ball took place at the Fillmore Auditorium here in our city that Rocks! The Jefferson Airplane and Demon Lover performed. The light show was offered up by Ben Van Meter, Bartlett and DeWitt. Although this event took place at the Fillmore during its early heyday, it is not part of the Fillmore poster series. It was created by the master Rock artist Stanley Mouse, and was printed two times.A few other handbills for this Ball were also printed and are quite scarce.
