Prof. Mirza Athar Baig: Leadership and IQ? Although, intellectual brilliance, scholastic achievements, sagacity and imagination are hardly the traits relevant to political performance at the highest levels of power in our dear motherland, still it could be an interesting pastime to allocate appropriate places to the stars of our galaxy of national leadership, on the good old IQ scale. Professional psychologists’ help would be highly appreciated. • 1 to 24 - Profound mental disability • 25 to 39 - Severe mental disability • 40 to 54 - Moderate mental disability • 55 to 69 - Mild mental disability • 70 to 84 - Borderline mental disability • 85 to 114 - Average intelligence • 115 to 129 - Above average; bright • 130 to 144 - Moderately gifted • 145 to 159 - Highly gifted • 160 to 179 - Exceptionally gifted • 180 and up - Profoundly gifted Note. This is a purely academic exercise hence totally non-political. (Lineman) Muhammad Pervaiz: A psychologist speaks. Reliance on only IQ is not appropriate in the current context. TUQ in IQ is highly gifted but with a serious psychopathology. IK s IQ would be far less than average and tends to live in his own phantasy world. Zardari would fall in gifted with a powerful touch of being street smart. NS is at the best average. I wish I could put them through a proper and comprehensive psychometric assessment.
