Professor Ang Peng Hwa, Advisor of the Singapore Internet Research Centre (SiRC) at Nanyang Technological University, was elected President-Elect Select of the International Communication Association (ICA), becoming the first Asian to lead this international organization. Professor Ang was elected into this position in the 2014 International Communication Association (ICA) online election. Upon selection, he will automatically become a member of the association’s Executive Committee. He will serve as Program Chair for the 2015 ICA Conference in Fukuoka, Japan, at the conclusion of which he will become President of ICA. ICA is a prestigious international association with membership comprising mainly of media experts and scholars. It hosts the most competitive of all communication conferences, with an acceptance rate of 35% on average.
