UG Programmes Seats* Eligibility Criteria Admission Criteria 1 BSc (Communication Design) 60 Candidates who have completed their 10+2 level or equivalent exams like AISSCE/ IB etc (in any stream) with minimum 50% aggregate marks are eligible to apply for undergraduate degree programmes. The admit card must be collected personally. For applications sent by post/courier, the applications must be received at the admissions office at least 12 working days before DAT date. DAT will be held at prescribed examination centres on 2 consecutive dates: Friday afternoon and Saturday morning to provide flexibility of choice to candidates appearing in multiple examinations. Short listed candidates will be called for a personal interview as per the schedule conveyed personally. Based on the selection, an offer of admission to the programme of your choice will be sent via an email, followed by an official letter of admission via courier. Details regarding payment of fees at the time of admission, allotment of Hostel and date, time and venue for commencement of the academic session will be included in the admission letter. Offer of admission will be valid only for the particular programme opted by the candidate for the given academic session. Format of Design Aptitude Test (DAT) Design education demands a combination of some very particular intellectual and Practical Skills. DAT (Design Aptitude Test) ascertains the competency of applicants for undertaking the study programmes at SOFD. DAT is designed to measure domain-related cognitive capacity of applicants in terms of lateral/ conceptual thinking/ analytical and critical thinking and the ability to hold multiple and potentially contradictory possibilities in mind simultaneously through a set of psychometric aptitude tests to measure abilities (such as verbal, numerical) and reasoning abilities (such as verbal, numerical, logical, spatial and abstract reasoning). The test shall check the Social/ historical/ cultural and political awareness; perception and observation skills and the ability to generate new ideas along with skills for visual communication.
