** Programming Update ** As you guys are all aware, last week was test week....a bloody successful one at that! Well done to all of you who absolutely dominated your previous test scores! We have now started the next 6 week cycle....be prepared for squats! Some of you may also be wondering/curious as to why we have some members following a completely different programme. Heres why.... Our mainline CrossFit programme (the WODs you see each day on the board) are designed for General Physical Preparedness (GPP), these are absolutely perfect for your general fitness and are very important if you want to develop and progress in CrossFit. The programme you see a minority of our members doing is designed for Specific Physical Preparedness (SPP)....that specificity being competing in CrossFit. These members are no more important/special, they have simply expressed an interest in competing in CrossFit and/or have shown potential in their physical attributes! Therefore, their training needs and requirements are slightly different. The movements they complete in each session are much more complex and require a higher skill base....as a result, the risks are inherently higher....hence we dont programme this for general members. Because of the increased potential risk, we require that each individual on this competitors programme complete a number of prerequisites before they take part. This may seem elitist and harsh but its nothing new....sports coaches from every domain will pick their best athletes, if an individual is not good enough, they wont get picked! Fact.
