Progress on my bronze sculpture of a cowboy mounted shooter. A - TopicsExpress

Progress on my bronze sculpture of a cowboy mounted shooter. A mould was taken of the original clay sculpture (seen in the photos). A wax positive is pulled from the mould and cut into pieces to accommodate the bronze casting process. Im inspecting the wax today at the foundry. These wax positives will be cast in a ceramic shell and put into the furnace where molten bronze will flow in and melt the wax out - leaving a bronze casting in its place :) The pieces will then be reassembled and a patina will be applied. This is called the traditional lost wax process. I will share photos of the casting once complete. If anyone wants one, the production process takes 8 weeks. This one will be on display at the Carefree Art Festival in my booth.
