Project Assistant- Flood Management - UNESCO - Islamabad Qualification: Masters degree in Natural Sciences and/or other related natural field sciences Skills High degree of proficiency in MS office, especially Excel, word and PowerPoint Ability to function as a team Familiarity with financial and accounting principles is an asset UNESCO in close collaboration with the Government of Japan and in coordination with the Government of Pakistan is implementing a major project that aims to upgrade the flood forecasting and early warning systems of Pakistan, and to conduct risk mapping of flood plains along the Indus River. Under the overall supervision of the project team and in close coordination with the Director Islamabad Office, the incumbent shall: 1. Assist the Flood management project team in managing project outputs, project activities and project control; 2. Maintain and update project files with updated financial reports, combined delivery reports, project correspondence and other documentations; 3. Filing of payment documentation invoices, travel claims and financial reports; Maintain office records and reference files on various subjects. Carry out data entry and retrieve information; 4. Provide advanced word processing support by creating complex spreadsheets, maintain database and creating high quality reports, presentations and other documents; 5. Assist in compiling and developing project work plans, project budgets and expenditure reports; 6. Assist in coordinating all administrative issues with the project partners and Govt. counterparts; 7. Assist in coordinating meetings including preparation of agenda, invitations and drafting and circulation of minutes of the meetings; 8. Provide travel arrangements including travel authorization, request for security clearance, transport and hotel accommodation and processing of payments; 9. Assist in organization of Project workshops and seminars, including preparation and publication of proceedings and workshop reports;
